Linwoods Superfoods Seeds and Berries range will now be stocked in El Corte Inglés stores across Spain. The company is Spain’s largest retailer and operates a wide range of formats including department stores, hypermarkets and supermarkets. El Corte Inglés is ranked fourth in the grocery market with a turnover of 5,000 million euro.
Linwoods have been exporting into the Spanish market since April 2007 through Spanish distributor El Granero which lists six Linwoods healthy eating products including Sundried Goji berries, Milled Organic Flaxseed and Goji Berries, Organic Flax, Sunflower and Pumpkin Seeds, Organic Flax, Sunflower, Pumpkin, Sesame and Goji Berries, and Shelled Organic Hemp.
The new El Corte Inglés deals marks a significant landmark for Linwoods says Marketing Manager, Joanne Hayden;
"I am very excited by the rapid growth of the Linwoods Superfoods range, which has gone from strength to strength since its relaunch last autumn. The Spanish market is particularly lucrative for us as Spanish consumers continue to seek to improve their health through organic and functional foods. The El Corte Inglés listing means that our healthy eating product portfolio has achieved triple figure sales growth since last year and this success is expected to continue.”
"It’s not just product quality and presentation that gives Linwoods the edge. Linwoods international business model offers excellent support and service for retailers which is crucial to success. We have also made significant investment in marketing support for the Spanish retail outlets including press and consumer advertising, consumer events, point of sale materials and translation of packaging.”
The success of Linwoods Superfoods healthy eating range is positive news in the current climate of economic slowdown and bucks the trend for decline in the luxury food manufacturing business.
